Just when you think Miley Cyrus couldn’t shock us again, the singer posted a topless photo to Instagram. The photo features Cyrus laying on her back, casually displaying her breasts. Cyrus uploaded the picture to Instagram, but it was immediately flagged and has already been removed.
She knew the photo would be flagged and captioned the image appropriately.
“Some lame ass deff gonna [flag] that but f–kkkkkkk it. #practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #FreedatShit.”
The 22-year-old has been supportive of the movement that aims to end the media’s “glorification of violence and repression of nudity.”
The hashtag #FreeTheNipple is a social media movement that has had the support of many female celebrities, such as Rumor Willis, Scout Willis, Lena Dunham and Liv Tyler. The movement is meant to empower women and free them from oppression.
Cyrus also showed her support for the movement last year by posting a photo of herself with a fake boob, much less controversial.
The pop star is very open about her frustrations at gender inequalities.
“Guys get to show their titties on the beach, why can’t we,” Cyrus asked at a recent BBC interview. “I don’t understand the double standard of life. I feel like I’m one of the biggest feminists in the world, because I tell women to not be scared of anything.”
