Miley Cyrus really wants to free her nipples, so much so that she flashed the camera while standing outside in the snow. But sorry to disappoint you (if you wanted to actually see some nipples), the singer added two red hearts with “Merry Christmas” on them to block out all the naughty bits.
Cyrus tweeted the photo on Saturday, writing, “Merry Christmas. THANK YOU NY for being one of the few states to @freethenipple.” The oft-controversial singer was referring to a campaign that hopes to “decriminalize the female body” and “protest the backwards censorship laws in the US,” according to its Facebook page. Here’s Miley’s tweet:

While the photo and declaration earned Cyrus some haters, she obviously doesn’t care. E! Online notes that it wasn’t the first time Miley Cyrus commented on men being held to different standards than women. She commented last month, “Guys get to show their titties on the beach, why can’t we. I don’t understand the double standard of life.”
Later on, apparently to address all the people calling her names for the tweet, Miley added:
It’s not about getting your titties out. It’s about equality.

Free the Nipple is releasing an independent documentary in theaters in January 2014 to challenge censorship laws in America.
