LINE recently capitalized on a WhatsApp outage that lasted several hours, and today began rolling out its cheap voice calling service to eight countries.
Simply called LINE Call, the feature is making its way to the latest Android app.
Here’s the supported countries and pricing:
- United States – 2 cents per minute land/mobile
- Mexico – 2 cents per minute land, 7 cents per minute mobile
- Colombia – 4 cents per minute land, 9 cents per minute mobile
- Peru – 2 cents per minute land, 15 cents per minute mobile
- Spain – 2 cents per minute land, 9 cents per minute mobile
- Thailand – 3 cents per minute land, 4 cents per minute mobile
- Philippines – 12 cents per minute land, 16 cents per minute mobile
- Japan – 3 cents per minute land, 14 cents per minute mobile
While China is listed on the chart above, LINE Call is currently not available in the country.
However, the messaging app plans on rolling out its affordable calling feature to more countries in the near future.
To pay for calls, LINE users can either prepay with credits or subscribe to 30-day plans that include a set number of minutes.
