Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn is now officially attached to produce the Fantastic Four reboot that’s starting to coming together over at 20th Century Fox. Mark Millar recently confirmed the news on Twitter.
Chronicle mastermind Josh Trank will reportedly spearhead the upcoming reboot. Although the recent cinematic adaptations of The Fantastic Four made a decent amount of money at the box office, the films weren’t really what longtime fans of the comic book series had in mind. As a Silver Surfer aficionado, I was particularly disappointed in the sequel.
Millar and Vaughn’s involvement bodes well for the project. Both men seem to understand what makes comic book flicks work on the big screen. Trank’s Chronicle was a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre, so it will be interesting to see his take on the Fantastic Four franchise.

The Fantastic Four reboot is currently slated to arrive in theaters at some point during 2015. More info will surely bubble to the surface once production is underway.
