Magician Rob Anderson scored a viral hit last week when he used a magic trick to give a handful of cash to homeless veteran Alan McCracken. Well, the street magician has taken his generosity a step farther. He started a GoFund me page for McCracken and has already raised more than $25,000.
“Alan McCracken is a United States Army veteran who proudly served his country for 6 years before being honorably discharged. After his service ended, he fell on hard times and wound up homeless, living on the streets and eventually making his way to Las Vegas … Alan does not do any drugs, and is proud to tell you about overcoming alcoholism much earlier in life. He would love to find a job, but as he explained to me, it’s difficult to find a job when you don’t have a home to clean yourself up in, or a decent change of clothes to wear. If there’s anyone who would be deserving of assistance to get back on their feet, it is Alan McCracken.”
Over 1200 people have donated to the campaign, raising more than $25,000 for the homeless veteran. The fundraiser original had a goal of $15,000 but Anderson is now shooting for $35,000.
Magician Rob Anderson recently updated the page saying that Alan McCracken was able to find a room with three other veterans and isn’t living on the streets anymore. In a few days, Anderson plans on surprising McCracken again with all of the donations from the GoFund Me page. We’re guessing that the magician will reveal the donations with another trick.
