Who needs to win an Academy Award when you can build one yourself? If you haven’t heard about the latest cinematic travesty, The Lego Movie was not nominated at the Oscars this year. But don’t worry, director Phillip Lord doesn’t seem to broken up about the snub.
Lord took to Twitter this morning to post a nice tongue-in-cheek response to the Academy’s snub.
It’s okay. Made my own! pic.twitter.com/kgyu1GRHGR

Still, Twitter users were pretty angry. Fans of The Lego Movie have been voicing their anger ever since the nominations were announced last night.
They didn’t nominate The LEGO Movie for Best Animated feature so that they can nominate it for Best Picture, right? …Right?

The Best Animated Feature last year was The Lego Movie, and the Best Score was Under The Skin. “The Academy” are clueless.

Uhh…where was The Lego Movie in the Best Animated Feature category? Does this mean it’ll be up for Best Picture? #oscarnoms

No LEGO MOVIE nomination for Best Animated Feature is BAFFLING. It’s one of the best animated features in years. #OscarNoms

Lord tried to calm his fans down and told them that the snub wasn’t exactly a travesty. He also took a moment to congratulate the cast and crew that worked on The Lego Movie.
This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.
