Kickstarter, one of the largest crowdfunding platforms on the planet, saw $480 million pledged in 2013, according to the latest data from the site.
Titled “The Year in Kickstarter 2013,” the crowdfunding giant shared quick stats today from the past year.
Three million users made up the $480 million in donations, which came out to $1,315,520 per day or $913 per minute.
Users who pledged came from 214 different countries across all seven continents, and here’s how many backed more than one project:
- 807,733 people backed more than one Kickstarter project.
- 81,090 people backed more than 10 projects.
- 975 people backed more than 100 projects.
Overall, 19,911 projects were successfully funded in 2013.
Here were some of the more memorable Kickstarter projects from the past year:
- Pebble smartwatch – $10,266,845 raised.
- Oculus Rift – $2,437,429 raised.
- OUYA Video Game Console – $8,596,474 raised.
- GoldieBlox Engineering Toy – $285,881 raised.
- Atlas Human-Powered Helicopter – $34,424 raised.
Kickstarter was also mentioned on Jeopardy in 2013, and was added to popular card game Cards Against Humanity.
