There’s some big news out there for Kevin Smith fans and some he-he-he news for marijuana fans. The man behind Clerks, Dogma, and Comic Book Men, has started writing the script to Clerks 3.
Smith shared the news on Instagram, writing: “THE BEGINNING OF THE END. 20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS. 20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III. It’s been like hanging out with old friends and after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion… CLERKS III will be the best film I’ll ever make.”
Yes, ClerksIII is in the works. And yes, te-he-he, he started writing it at 4:20 am. Classic Smith.
Clerks was shut on a shoe-string budget and helped launch Smith into the inde-idol that he is today. Clerks II never garnered the same cult status as the original but it was still appreciated by stoners, Jay Silent Bob fans, and Kevin Smith loyalist.
