Kevin Huber found a way to be humorous in a bad situation this week after he took a massive hit from Steelers linebacker Terence Garvin. Huber, a punter for the Bengals, suffered a fractured jaw and broke a vertebra in his neck. Garvin was fined $25,000 for the hit.
But the NFL player has been in good spirits this week, despite learning he will be out for the rest of the season. Huber first thanked his fans for their prayers and thoughts, then changed his avatar to the photo taken of his massive hit.
Thank you all for the kind messages and keeping me in your prayers. It is much appreciated! #WHODEY

But wait! There’s more. The football player also joked about what color twisted straw he should use in the coming weeks and thanked the United Dairy Farmers for its generous donation of ice cream — one of the things Huber is actually allowed to eat during his recovery.
The toughest decision I have to make over the next several weeks… What color to go with! pic.twitter.com/v4hoi5n22F — Kevin Huber (@khuber10) December 19, 2013
I want to thank United Dairy Farmers for the much needed ice cream! So much for losing weight… pic.twitter.com/UjzzuaEq4w — Kevin Huber (@khuber10) December 19, 2013
Kevin Huber had surgery on Friday to fix his jaw. Before going in, he sent his final tweet.

Sporting News decided to help Huber on his quest for some love during his recovery, and Match.com hinted that there are probably a few nurses who could assist with his recovery.
