It’s a sad day for Mythbusters fans. Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara (better known collectively as the M7 Build Team) are leaving Mythbusters.
The Discovery Channel show wrapped up its final show of its current season this week. At the end of the episode, hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage broke the news to fans.
The Mythbusters hosts said: “It’s not only the end of this episode, it’s not only the end of this season, it’s also the end of an era. This is the very last episode of Mythbusters to feature Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara.”

The reason for the trios departure isn’t exactly known but Jamie did say that Mythbusters would be “going back to its roots” for the next season. That means that it will only feature Jamie and Adam.
The show is taking a new direction. It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters — Kari Byron (@KariByron) August 22, 2014
I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us. — Kari Byron (@KariByron) August 22, 2014
Thanks @MythBusters for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way. Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure! — Grant Imahara (@grantimahara) August 22, 2014
Fans are speculating that the trios departure may simply come down to money. Mythbusters hasn’t been bringing in huge ratings lately and Discovery may have decided that it didn’t want to pay to keep Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara around. But that, at the moment, is just speculation. So what’s next for the M7 Build Team? It’s unclear if the trio will embark on their next endeavor together or if they will decide to go their separate ways. What we do know is that Grant will continue to build robots.
Wish… GRANTED? LOL RT @Transfan2: “@grantimahara @MythBusters Grant…one wish..KEEP MAKING ROCKIN’ ROBOTS”
