Young People Are Disappearing in Iowa at a Disturbing Rate – But Why?

Young People Are Disappearing in Iowa at a Disturbing Rate - But Why?

For the last three weeks, a state-wide search has been underway for 20-year-old Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, who vanished while out jogging on July 18th.

Tibbetts was staying at her boyfriend Dalton Jack’s home in Brooklyn, Iowa, at the time of her disappearance, as she was looking after his dogs while he was away. When she didn’t show up for work the next day, Jack and her family became worried and reported her missing.

Now, despite conducting over 200 interviews and searching a local hog farm, multiple cornfields, and other properties nearby, investigators have yet to find any trace of Tibbetts.

And sadly, it looks like Tibbetts case isn’t a one-off. It turns out that 48 juvenilles were reported missing in the Iowa during July, 36 of which vanished over a 10-day period.

Unsurprisngly, the statistics have frightened parents across the US, and left us all wondering – what the hell is going on in Iowa? And why has such a hefty figure received so little press coverage?

Of course, people around the web are coming up with conspiracy theories to explain the disapperances, including everything from alien abductions to the summer solstice.

Others have suggested some sort of secret sex trafficking ring

However, the Iowa Department of Public Safety insists these numbers are actually in the normal range for the state, and there’s nothing for people to be concerned about.

Which lead to the OG poster of the statistics being accused of spreading fake news

Either way, we’re going to avoid the I-80 for a while. Just to be sure.
