Josh Romney Saves Four In Car Wreck, Tweets Photo From Scene

Josh Romney Tweets Car Accident

Josh Romney saved four people in the aftermath of a car accident on Thursday night, then tweeted a photo of him posing with the crashed vehicle the next morning. Josh, the son of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, quickly received criticism for the photo, with users suggesting he maybe shouldn’t have been smiling when the photo was taken.

Romney also spoke with the Salt Lake City Tribune about the accident, explaining his involvement. The car apparently drove through an intersection Romney was stopped at and plowed into a home across the street. He added, “I drove to the accident site and entered the home where the car had come to a stop on its side.

I opened the car door and spoke with the four passengers inside the car.” Thankfully, the passengers weren’t hurt, so Romney helped them out of the car. He added of his decision to stop and help, “What I did to help the people involved in the accident is what anyone else would do who witnessed such a potentially dangerous situation.” While what he did was certainly commendable, Josh Romney’s tweet later on probably wasn’t the best way to go about telling people. Users generall responded by saying:

There were a few supportive tweets though, with users writing:

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal later confirmed Josh Romney’s presence at the scene of the accident. He added that the home involved had been hit by a car before in a similar accident. While it survived the first accident, it was declared “unlivable” on Friday. No one was inside at the time of the wreck.
