Josh Gordon was the NFL’s leading receiver in 2013. He could lead the league again this year but it’s going to be in a very different category: Car sales.
Gordon, who was suspended last month for violating the NFL’s drug policy, has apparently landed a job at a car dealership in Ohio. According to USA Today, Gordon will be the “goodwill ambassador” for the Sarchione Auto group.
ESPN reporter Josina Anderson writes on Twitter: #Browns WR Josh Gordon has a new job. “He will be the goodwill ambassador for the Sarchione Auto group in Randolph, Ohio, which includes Sarchione Ford and Sarchione Chevrolet . He will be working in all aspects of their car business including as an on-floor salesman. Gordon will also be heading all of their local community efforts including with the Wounded Warriors Project. He starts this weekend.”

Gordon’s suspension surprised a lot of people last month. After giving Ray Rice a two-game suspension for domestic abuse, many thought that the league’s year long suspension for marijuana was too harsh.
Regardless, Josh Gordon will be spending this NFL season at a car dealership instead of the football field.
It may seem odd for Gordon to pick up a job at a car dealership but the 23-year-old receiver needs something to occupy his time. He’s struggled with substance abuse issues in the past and having a year off to do nothing probably wouldn’t be good for him. Hopefully this gives him a little structure while he rides out his suspension.
