Jim Carrey is a big fan of the movie Kick Ass. In fact, he liked the movie so much that he campaigned for the part of “Colonel Stars and Stripes” for the sequel. But now the actor has had a change of heart.
Carrey said that Kick-Ass 2 is too violent for his tastes and he won’t be encouraging people to go see the movie.

I meant to say my apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.

Do you think it’s strange that Jim Carrey is trying to distance himself from Kick-Ass 2? Mark Millar, the author of the comics and one of the producers on the movie, was shocked to hear Carrey’s comments. Millar said that he respected Carrey’s opinion but was surprised by his sudden change of heart.
Millar said: “As you may know, Jim is a passionate advocate of gun-control and I respect both his politics and his opinion, but I’m baffled by this sudden announcement as nothing seen in this picture wasn’t in the screenplay eighteen months ago. Yes, the body-count is very high, but a movie called Kick-Ass 2 really has to do what it says on the tin … Like Jim, I’m horrified by real-life violence (even though I’m Scottish), but Kick-Ass 2 isn’t a documentary. No actors were harmed in the making of this production!”
