Jeff Francoeur was recently the victim of a hilarious month long prank. His teammates on the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Padres’ Triple-A affiliate, decided that a simple quick prank wouldn’t do, so instead they played a much longer joke on him. Francoeur’s teammates convinced him that Chihuahuas pitcher Jorge Reyes was deaf.
After a few games Reyes talked to his teammates, hoping to tip-off Francoeur, but he never caught the discussions and continued to believe the lie.
Once the prank had played its course first baseman Cody Decker put a short film from the month-long prank on YouTube.
In the video his own teammates call him an “idiot” as teammate Brooks Conrad wonders “How can somebody be this stupid?”
The best part of the video? When Jeff Francoeur is let in on the joke.
The video has not only gone viral on YouTube with 604,664 views in just two days, it has also become the number one topic on Facebook trends.
Twitter users seem to appreciate the Jeff Francoeur prank and the month-long dedication put towards it:
