Let’s hope that Jason Isbell makes good on his promise and auditions for The Voice.
Isbell, a successful musician who is currently headlining his own tour, was apparently asked by NBC to audition for The Voice.

The Voice has discovered some new talent over the years but Jason Isbell is far from “new talent.” He played with Drive By Truckers in the early 2000s and released his first solo album in 2007. He’s released three more albums since then and according to Rolling Stone, he played more than 120 shows this year, most of which were sold out. Basically, Isbell doesn’t need to join The Voice to get a career boost. Still, the musician is considering the offer.
My audition on “The Voice” will be a solo vocal and French horn rendition of “Oh Comely” by Neutral Milk Hotel. I will wear a #bikini. — Jason Isbell (@JasonIsbell) November 19, 2014
Isbell recently released an album called Southeastern. The disc cracked the top 40 upon its release and has now sold more than 130,000 copies.
Jason Isbell isn’t a household name but he’s also not bound by an unfair NBC contract.
Are you surprised that NBC asked Jason Isbell to audition for The Voice?
