Is being a mom really the most difficult job in the world? Comedian Bill Burr doesn’t think so. In fact, he thinks being a mom is probably one of the cushiest gigs you can land out there.
Prepare to be offended.
Yesterday, a video from American Greetings and Cardstore titled “World’s Toughest Job – #worldstoughestjob” went viral, and is still performing well for Social News Daily today. In it, a fake HR rep interviews two-dozen candidates for a position called “Director of Operations” which he promises will work them to the bone, 24/7, for absolutely zero pay.
The applicants balked at the “insanity” of such a job, until the fake rep revealed that the job he’s interviewing them for is “mother,” at which point most of them got the gag.
The video has nearly 8,000,000 views on YouTube as of publishing time.
But the reddit community questions the assertion that “mom” is the world’s toughest job. Over on r/videos, the above clip from Bill Burr’s “Let It Go” routine has reached the top of the charts with over 3,000 upboats. The video is intended as a direct response to the #worldstoughestjob clip, with the description reading: “In light of the recent viral ad: Bill Burr describes ‘The Most Difficult Job on the Planet’.”
Watch the video above, and let us know what you think in the comments. Is “mom” still the #worldstoughestjob? You’ll notice that we’re not taking a stand on this issue because we don’t want you to hurt us.
