So there’s a new thing called “ear selfies,” and we want to introduce you to it before it goes viral like herpes in a Baylor U residence hall.
Spotted by user JayOtt on reddit, the “ear selfie” is when you point your smartphone camera through your gauged ear piercing and take a picture of yourself in the mirror. That’s what you’re looking at up top. It might take you a few seconds to “get it,” but when you do, you can’t unsee.
In any case, the reddit community is none too impressed by the “ear selfie,” so hopefully the trend is buried before Instagram is flooded with lobe-tunnel shots from under-employed hipsters everywhere.
Also a peripheral risk, recognized by ArchangelPT:
“I’d like to point out that of this trend keeps going someone is inevitably gonna post a photo coming out of somewhere there shouldn’t be a hole in. Food for thought.”
Indeed. What do you think of the ear selfie? Is it a cool idea that should catch on, or shall we never speak of it again?
