Instagram recently inked a $100 million advertising deal with Omnicom, and today announced a brand new design making its way to Android devices.
Buttons and navigation are virtually unchanged, but the app features a more sleek, flat design reminiscent of its iOS counterpart.
According to Instagram, profiles now load twice as fast, and the total app size has been cut in half.
This means a faster app, and a more beautiful way to navigate through filtered food photos.
“We’ve simplified our visuals throughout our app, making use of valuable screen space for small devices and feature phones and rearranging our design to keep buttons within easy reach as you navigate the app on a larger device.”
The update is rolling out now to Google Play, and Android users finally get to join iOS in welcoming a brand new Instagram.
