Buble and Menzel’s video for “Baby It’s Cold Outside” has already resulted in over 1 million hits after being released only two days ago on November 17th.
The video for Menzel and Buble’s version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” definitely tries to ramp up the cuteness factor. Instead of featuring Menzel and Buble, the music vid has two child actors playing the stars. And that’s not the only way “Baby It’s Cold Outside” tries to be kid-friendly.
US Magazine explains how the Menzel/Buble collab on “Baby It’s Cold Outside” has resulted in some deliberately toned down lyrics:
The celebrated singers took on the classic holiday ditty, editing a few of the questionable lyrics that deal with alcohol, cigarettes, and sexual consent. The pair swapped “Say what’s in this drink / No cabs to be had out there,” with “Say was that a wink? / No cabs to be had out there,” and “I ought to say no no no sir / Mind if I move in closer,” for “I ought to get home for dinner / Mind if I move in closer.”
What are your thoughts? Is the Idina/Buble version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” warming you up?
