Just do it. I’m lovin’ it. Where’s the beef? You can’t underestimate the power of great slogan. Unfortunately, you can’t really trust them either. A group of Redditors have been toiling for more than 24 hours now in an attempt to create some honest company slogans.
Now, I’m not a Reddit historian but I believe the trend started in the Ask Reddit when John The Scatman posted a simple question to the group: If every company had an honest slogan, what would they be?
Redditors quickly started to reply, giving companies like Nike, McDonald’s and Target new slogans (“Just Buy It,” “You Only Have $4,” and “Because You Don’t Want To Go To Walmart”) but the meme didn’t take off until the slogans were added to real ads.
The social site started to fill up with “Are We Still Doing Honest Company Slogans” submissions and eventually the BieverLord compiled the images into an Imgur gallery.
But before you go over and give Reddit a hefty pat on the back you should know that the majority of these images were created by Clif Dickens, the owner and operator of HonestSlogans.com. Dickens has been creating Honest Slogans since 2011 and he’s still coming up with new ones today.
