A new infographic examines social media trends this holiday season to discover who’s naughty or nice, favorite holiday drinks and more. The infographic was put together by Synthesio, a global social media monitoring company.
When it comes to holiday social media chatter the US clocks in at number one with 63 percent. The UK came in at 30 percent and France at 4 percent while China made up just 1 percent. Among the social media posts analyzed 82 percent were found to be nice while 18 percent were found to be naughty.
Santa is one of the big social media trends this time of year and he appears to have a good reputation in the US and UK. Here is how his reputation breaks down in the US:
- 49 percent say Santa is nice
- 33 percent say Santa is jolly
- 10 percent say Santa is fat
- 8 percent say Santa is creepy

- 54 percent say Santa is nice
- 31 percent say Santa is jolly
- 10 percent say Santa is fat
- 6 percent say Santa is creepy
The top three favorite holiday drinks in the US are eggnog, champagne and apple cider. In the UK, the top three are mulled wine, champagne and eggnog. The holiday season isn’t complete without a big dinner. Social media trends show that most dinners in the US and UK have turkey, 59 percent and 71 percent respectively.

- Last Christmas – 44 percent
- White Christmas – 23 percent
- Little Drummer Boy – 10 percent
