You’ve probably seen a few donuts on Twitter today. Well, it’s National Donut Day and shops like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts are giving away free treats all day.
And you know what that means… Donut Selfies!

National Donut Day may seem like some advertising stunt to get people to visit a Dunkin’ Donuts but there’s actually some history here. According to Time, the holiday has been going on for more than 75 years. It was first launched by the Salvation Army to celebrate all of the people who volunteered during World War I.
