Happy Birthday Biggie: Notorious B.I.G. Celebrated On Twitter


Happy birthday Biggie. The internet paid tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G. today on what would have been the musician’s 42nd birthday.

Biggie, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was born on May 21, 1972. He was killed on March 9, 1997 in a drive by shooting.

Funk Volume wrote on its Facebook page:  “Damn, Biggie would have been 42 today … Would have been interesting to see how Hip Hop would have evolved if we didn’t lose so many greats at an early age.”

Several other Musicians and fans took to Twitter to celebrate the late musician. So many people turned to Twitter to talk about Biggie that “Happy Birthday Biggie” and #NotoriousBIG started trending nationwide.

Biggie’s career was short but his impact on music is still felt today. More than 15 years after his death he is still considered one of the greatest emcees of all time.
