Grindr And Blendr Co-Founder Scott Lewallen Steps Away, Will Focus On Consulting


Scott Lewallen Leaves Grindr and Blendr

Scott Lewallen, co-founder of the Grindr and Blendr social networks, has stepped away from the companies he helped found. Lewallen will now focused on Mezic Media, his branding and mobile app creation company.

Lewallen has served as the Senior vice President of Product and Design at Grindr since the service launched in 2009. The Grindr app is a location-based social app used by six million gay users in 192 countries. Grindr has continued to gain mass appeal, adding 2.5 million users in the last year alone.

After founding Grindr the company launched the straight user experience Blendr which has skyrocketed to 176 million users. The Grindr Xtra app is believed to be one of the top earning Apple App Store apps for January 2013.

In a public statement Scott Lewallen said he is extremely proud of the accomplishments by the Grindr/Blendr team, noting that he has had a “fantastic experience” working at the company.

Lewallen says he has some “exciting” mobile app projects ahead of him.
