Sunday night’s Grammy Awards hashtag, #GRAMMYs, generated 13.8 million tweets in the United States and 862 million impressions, according to the Neilsen Twitter TV Ratings. The data is measured three hours before, during, and three hours after the event airs in local time.
There were also more tweets about the performance than measured, since the ratings only include tweets with that specific hashtag. According to Twitter’s data, more than 15.2 million tweets about the Grammys were posted during the East Coast telecast.
Of those tweets, the three peak moments were when Lorde performed, when Lorde won Best Pop Solo Performance, and when Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar performed, according to Twitter’s blog. The artists mentioned most during the Grammys were Lorde, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift, who is still trending, thanks to her odd headbang performance.
Twitter also helped transport users inside the action with behind the scenes photos, artists tweeting from the seats, and ET and PEOPLE’s red carpet coverage. Using Vine, Instagram, and Twitter photos, celebrities gave a different perspective about what the show was like for them.
