Google+ Profile Images Will Appear In Caller ID On Android 4.4 KitKat

Google+

Google+ has 300 million active users in the stream, and starting early 2014, Google will pull profile images into caller ID on devices running Android 4.4 KitKat.

4.4 KitKat is the latest version of Android, and one of its new features is a major update to caller ID.

Previously, if someone not in your contacts called you, you would only see their name and phone number.

With KitKat, the instant you receive a phone call, Google searches that number in the background, and pulls up relevant info.

To help with this, Google+ has been enlisted, and soon phone calls will be quickly matched with a face.

According to the official Android page, the new functionality will work with users who have verified their phone number on their account, and have discovery turned on.

If you don’t want your Google+ profile photo to appear in caller ID, you can simply go here and make sure the box is unchecked.
