Social media publisher and advertising startup Glam Media has decided to rebrand itself as Mode Media.
The company, which is perhaps best known for its social media plays in the female sector, is looking to expand into video.
According to a report at VentureBeat:
Mode has opened up its own video studio in West Hollywood and plans to debut 10 original “episodic” video shows across its various verticals, Arora said. (Glam will produce five of those, while the others will come from outside studios.)
The company has been highly successful in a crowded market, but in part off its push to provide advertising to external websites.
How a name change from the glib “Glam” to the dull “Mode” will help the company grow isn’t clear, but unlike many of its peers it actually knows how to make money.
