Filmmaker, Tatia Pilieva, captured an adorably awkward, beautiful moment between 20 strangers who were asked to kiss for the first time. Not just the first kiss on camera, but ever as those appearing in the film were in fact complete strangers.
Once posted by Pilieva, the video, apply titled First Kiss, went viral, appearing on Facebook feeds and Twitter pages alike. As of this article, the video, which Pilieva posted on YouTube on the 10th, has received over 17.6 million views.
Here’s my FIRST KISS film: I asked 20 strangers to kiss for the first time w/ @WRENSTUDIO and many dear hearts. https://t.co/7uii2kQjY7

The simplistic black-and-white WREN Studio produced snippet allows the viewer to only focus on the awkward, nervous, silly, playful, flirtatious, tender, and passionate moments leading up to and during the first kiss between the men and women – straight and gay – featured in the short three-in-a-half minute film.
These strangers clumsily dance around, leading up to the inevitable first kiss – the awkwardness building as some query to the director “Do we just do this at any time?” while others simply introduced themselves, followed with, “Shall we make out?”
Overall everyone featured embraces the moment in their own unique way.
The cast includes models Natalia Bonifacci, Ingrid Schram, and Langley Fox; musicians Z Berg of The Like, Damian Kulash of OK Go, Justin Kennedy of Army Navy, singer Nicole Simone, and singer-actress Soko (who also performed the melancholy indie music that accompanies the short, Soko’s “We Might be Dead Tomorrow” scores the first kiss); and actors Karim Saleh, Matthew Carey, Jill Larson, Corby Griesenbeck, Elisabetta Tedla, Luke Cook, and Marianna Palka.
According to Jezebel, the First Kiss short is going to be used as a clothing advertisement.
