Friends and fans of Phil Everly took to Twitter on Friday to remember the singer and one half of the famous Everly Brothers. Phil died on Friday at the age of 74.
Phil, along with his brother, Don, formed the influential harmony duo that eventually inspired the likes of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, and others. CBS News notes that his son, Jason, cited Phil’s cause of death as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Fans of the Everly Brothers expressed their sorrow on Twitter and the duo’s name trended briefly as well.
