Facebook Home Now Displays Content From 4 Other Social Networks

Facebook Home

Facebook Home, a content overlay available on Android, has just added support for content from Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and Flickr.

Home acts as a lockscreen, and the new feature is currently only available through the Android beta app.

If you signed up as an Android beta tester, and have the app, here is how you turn on Facebook Home:

  • Open the Facebook app, and click the menu icon on the top left.
  • Go down to where it says “Settings,” and then select “App Settings.”
  • Scroll to the very bottom, and check the box next to “Use as Lock Screen.”

Facebook did not say how many beta users will get access to the new feature, but plans on bringing it to everyone “soon.”

Since its launch back in April, Facebook Home has had a bit of a rough start.

While between one and five million people have downloaded the app via Google Play, it currently has an average rating of just 2.5 stars.

In early August, the social network started integrating Facebook Home functionality into the Android app, and the beta app has served as a good testing ground for new features.
