Expect Anonymous To Spam Facebook With ‘Uncensored’ Stuff Soon

If you don’t want to see some straight up nasty goatse stuff, stay off of Facebook on April 6, 2013. The frequent crusaders for justice/online pranksters that comprise the Internet hactivist collective known as Anonymous will reportedly be targeting Facebook hard on that day, filling your news feeds with “uncensored material,” which is as ambiguous as it is ominous.

Anonymous has brought down high profile targets from the Church of Scientology to the CIA, but the one bad egg they’ve yet to crack is social media giant Facebook, despite numerous attempts.

But there’s more than one way to skin a LOLcat. Instead of trying to hack Facebook’s servers or take the network offline, Anonymous is apparently just going to flood the site with “uncensored material” as part of the campaign #OpTruthForce.

“In past years we have seen a growing force around the world,” reads the announcement on AnonNews. “Governments and corporations are working strategically to stop free speech by the people. In more recent months we have witnessed an increased number of account blocking and deletion by Facebook, of users who dare to ridicule, mock, satirize, or speak out against political leaders or corporations heavily involved with politics.”

And it’s for that very reason that they’re planning on flooding the site with “uncensored material.” If they can’t bring the site down, they can at least troll it, and hard.

“All anons WORLDWIDE hit facebook with uncensored material. We shall continue this bombardment of material as long as we can—hopefully 24 hours,” added a rep. “We will flood their system—their admins won’t be able to keep up. THEY CAN’T BAN US ALL AT ONCE!”

Oh, and the significance of April 6? Same day Mahatma Gandhi civilly disobeyed British law.

We’ll all have to wait and see what will happen on April 6, as previous threats against Facebook in 2011 and 2012 didn’t go so well. But the site might be too big to secure in any meaningful way, which we saw last week when child pornography went viral, racking up thousands of likes and shares before it was finally removed.
