Move over Bill Cosby, there’s another celebrity in the social media fail club. Dr. Oz hosted a Twitter Q&A this week and it completely backfired on him.

Dr. Mehmet Oz was hoping to talk to his fans about health issues but most people mocked the television doctor for being a snake oil salesman. Entertainment Weekly reports that Oz has frequently been accused of hocking fraudulent products on his website.
Last June, he was scolded at a senate hearing for promoting a fake diet product. Oz defended himself, saying: “I have things that I think work for people. I want them to try them just to help them feel better so they can keep doing the other things we spend every single day on the show talking about.” Of course, most people didn’t buy Oz’s excuse. When the celebrity doctor opened up the door for questions on Twitter, most people took the opportunity to voice their negative opinions for Dr. Oz.

@DrOz If I bathe exclusively in coconut and guava oil, will that remove all my toxins? Do I need to add avocado oil too? #OzsInbox

Dr. Oz’s Twitter Q&A didn’t go exactly as planned but the television doctor has to be getting used to these snarky comments by now. Check out this video from John Oliver.
