Don’t Suck At Facebook #380: Don’t Be A General Dick

Today’s “Don’t Suck At Facebook” tip involves being a dick, which is sort of a big directive — but apparently, there are some people who have not grasped that even if being the biggest dick on Facebook gets you traction, attention, or engagement … you’re still a huge dick.

The dickish behavior that inspired this entry was that of Maria Kang, perpetual body image troll hellbent on using women’s adversarial relationships with their bodies and post-partum insecurity to cocktastically boost her social media presence.

Look … there’s absolutely not a thing wrong with being into fitness, like Maria Kang, or really getting obsessed with working out and diets.

It’s that her whole Facebook thing is based around making other women feel shitty, and now she’s parlaying it into a movement called the “No Excuse Mom Movement.”

You know, because men don’t need excuses — they can look however they want. Women, on the other hand, have to be prepared to explain why they look the way they do no matter how they look.

Ugh, Maria Kang, reminding us how much no one likes it when you’re a dick on Facebook. Everyone do you, and talk about your favorite things and passions … it isn’t necessary to be a dick, though. This simple Facebook achievement can be unlocked by managing to talk up your interests without ragging on other people.

Do you know anyone who’s this kind of dick on Facebook?
