How Many Facebook Apps Access Your Account? Here’s How To Find Out

Facebook Apps

Facebook last said it had nine million apps back in April 2012, and as of March 2013, 250 million users play games every single month.

Whether you’re obsessed with Candy Crush or not, there are far more than just games that can potentially have access to your account.

Facebook apps can be in a wide variety of forms from sweepstakes to integrations with other apps or services.

As time goes on, these apps we approve start to add up, and if you’ve never cleaned up, the number may shock you.

Seeing which Facebook apps have access to your account is very simple, and here’s what you do:

  • From the homepage, click the wheel icon at the top right, and select “Privacy Settings.”
  • Then, from the left-hand sidebar, click on “Apps.”

Under “Apps you use” is all the apps that currently have access to your account. There are many that you probably still use, but for those that you don’t anymore, simply click the “X” to remove them.

Facebook had made great strides in minimizing malware and hacking attempts, but it, like any other social network, is not perfect.

Apps can be compromised, and if you’ve given them access, you’re just another victim.

While removing Facebook apps that you no longer use will not protect you completely, it’s a proactive approach to helping keep your account clean.
