Donald Trump gave a touching tribute to the late, great Jimmy Carter today during the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference. Well, it would have been touching if, you know, the former president was actually dead.
But Jimmy Carter isn’t dead. Trump was reminded of that fact on twitter by the late former president’s grandson.
I pretty sure I would have heard about that. RT @eliasisquith: Trump seems to think Jimmy Carter is dead: “The late, great Jimmy Carter”

Trump’s flub was extra funny considering the fact that the media mogul started his speech with a joke about teleprompters.

Donald was talking about President Obama’s poor performance when he referenced the “late great Jimmy Carter.”
Trump said: “We’re getting into Jimmy Carter territory. I never thought we’d see something like that again. I lived through that. It was not a good time. But we’re pretty close. By next month we may have surpassed the late great Jimmy Carter.”
