Derrick Rose is officially back on the court. The Chicago Bulls point guard participated in a full contact practice today with Team USA in Las Vegas.
Rose told reporters after practice that his confidence was “through the roof” and that he is a much better player than what he was a few years ago. Coach K. seemed to agree, saying that Rose has developed several new weapons since the last time he played for Team USA.
Coach K said: “I was ecstatic about watching him today. He’s better than four years ago. Four years ago, he was 21, and he was just on the verge of becoming who he was going to be. But he had a great practice today. You don’t practice like this [every day]. He hasn’t been in practices like this. Now [we’ll] watch what he does for the next few days.”
Today was just practice so we shouldn’t get too excited. Still, there were a few encouraging videos that came out of training camp today.

Rose said: “My confidence is very high. That’s the only thing you might see this year, that my confidence level is through the roof. I’ve been preparing for this for a long time. [The practice Monday was] probably big to everyone else because they probably haven’t seen me, but I dedicated my whole summer for this moment. No one has seen me in a long time. It’s kind of weird. People are kind of like in awe to even see me going down the floor, like I’m handicapped or something…This is only the beginning of a long journey, a long grind.”
Rose hasn’t officially made the roster yet. He played point guard for Team USA back in 2010 but he’ll have to earn his spot again this year.
Do you think Derrick Rose will be an all-star again this year?
