Move over Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon has a new musical best friend. Daniel Radcliffe was on The Tonight Show last night to promote his new film Horns but most people are talking about the Harry Potter actor’s linguistic skills.
Radcliffe told Fallon that he was a big fan of rap and had a weird habit of memorizing the lyrics to complicated songs. Enter “Alphabet Aerobics.”
Radcliffe says: I’m a big rap fan. That surprises a lot of people but I am. Initially, I got into Eminem…. I’ve always had this obsession with memorizing complicated lyrical, intricate and fast songs.”
Jimmy Fallon handed Radcliffe a microphone and asked him if he would perform Gift Of Gab song. And with a little help from the Roots, Radcliffe obliged.
The gimmick behind “Alphabet Aerobics” is that song starts with two verses featuring “A” words and then moves its way through the alphabet as the pace builds. By the end of the song, he’s rapping so fast that it’s pretty hard to understand what he’s saying.
Here’s the last few lyrics from the Blackalicious song: “Zig-Zag zombies, zooming to the zenith / Zero in, zen thoughts, overzealous rhyme ZEA-LOTS!

Yeah, that was pretty impressive. “Alphabet Aerobics” is a pretty difficult song to master but Radcliffe absolutely nailed it.
