Dad Sings ‘Blackbird’ To Dying Son After His Wife Passes Away In Childbirth [Watch]

A heartbreaking video surfaced the internet yesterday and has gone viral. A new dad who lost his wife and son in a few days found some comfort by singing “Blackbird” by The Beatles. Father and musician, Chris Picco, is singing to his son, Lennon, in the neonatal intensive care unit of Loma Linda University Hospital in California.

Lennon wasn’t due until February, but Chris’ wife Ashley died suddenly after childbirth. Only 24 weeks into pregnancy, Ashley had an emergency C-section when Lennon only weight 2 pounds.

The YouTube description explained why Chris decided to sing, saying, “During the pregnancy, Ashley would often feel Lennon moving to music so Chris asked if he could bring his guitar into the NICU and play for Lennon, which he did for several hours during the last days of Lennon’s precious life. One day after filming this, Lennon went to sleep in his daddy’s arms.”
