Alleged footage from the CTA train derailment in Chicago this week has gone viral on social media sites, and it’s easy to see why.
On Monday, a CTA Blue Line train hopped the track at O’Hare International Airport because, get this, the driver dozed off. Amazingly, nobody was injured, but it was a pretty close call for one traveler and a security officer who stopped him for questioning.
In footage that appears to have been taken from CCTV screens by an O’Hare employee’s cell phone, we apparently see the CTA train derailment over the shoulder of its two almost-victims.
The footage went viral after being posted on YouTube and the subreddit r/chicago, but disappeared Wednesday morning. It is now back online thanks to various other YouTube channels that managed to upload a copy. Watch it above!
