Community Managers And Their Roles In Social Media For 2013 [Infographic]

As engagement online continues to grow the role of Community Manager takes on a more important role within organizations. The team at Social Fresh realizes the importance of community managers and for the last three years they have been collecting data about trends in the field.

As expected more community managers are beginning to place further emphasis on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other social platforms.

The report has found that gender roles are changing in the field of community management. In 2011 for example 68 percent of people surveyed were women, that number fell to 65 percent in 2012 and is expected to fall further to 61 percent in 2013.

The survey also found that community managers are now earning between $30,000 and six figures with an average base salary between $49k and $51k.

The Social Fresh survey also found that the average age of contributors has risen from 29-years-old in 2011 to an expected average of 32-years-old in 2013. The age difference could be attributed to 29-year-olds remaining in their position over a three year period, or it could be attributed to more traditional marketers jumping into the community manager space.
