Cleveland Kidnap Victims Thank Public In Touching YouTube Video

Cleveland kidnap victims

Cleveland kidnap victims Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight appeared in a YouTube video to thank the public for all of the support they have received since escaping their nightmare earlier this year.

After managing to escape from the house they had been kept in for a decade, all three of the Cleveland kidnap victims have gone into hiding to recuperate from the experience and reconnect with their loved ones.

The video above was filmed on July 2, 2013 at the law offices of Jones Day in Cleveland, Ohio, and gives us our first good look at the victims since their escape.

A bit more background on the clip: Hennes Paynter Communications shot the film, and the entire crew worked pro bono for the victims. The charity that the victims reference is the Cleveland Courage Fund, which was established to help Berry, DeJesus and Knight specifically. You can learn more about that here.

So far they have raised over $1 million.

Though all three of the Cleveland kidnap victims still have a strong desire for privacy and hope that we respect those wishes, they wanted to take a moment to say “thanks” to everyone who has helped them. If that’s you, go ahead and pat yourself on the back.
