Chris Farley had an incredibly successful movie career before leaving this world in February 1997, and a new video gives us an early look at one of his iconic characters.
Before Farley was picked up by SNL, he, like other alumni, was part of improv comedy group Second City.
During his time with Second City, he got to perform with Bob Odenkirk, best known for Mr. Show and his role as lawyer Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad.
Odenkirk helped co-create Matt Foley, the motivational speaker who “lives in a van down by the river.”
Today, Second City uploaded a video from July 1990 where Farley performed the character some three years before joining Saturday Night Live.
You can watch Chris Farley steal the show around the two minute mark, and who would later captivate millions with the same character.
