Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino, gave a sneak peek of his new album today on Instagram. The album, Because The Internet, features a holographic image on the cover.
Vibe reports that Childish Gambino’s new album won’t hit stores until December 10th but fans can hear a few of the songs early. The song “Sweatpants” leaked to the internet earlier this month and Glover posted the song “Telegraph” onto Sound Cloud last night.
Glover also released a short trailer for the new project earlier this month. But the trailer, called “No Mouth Emoji,” brings up more questions than it does answers.
Childish Gambino has been hyping his release as much as he has been hyping his music. After “Sweat Pants” leaked, the musician said that he was disappointed because he was working on one of the “more imaginative rollouts.”
im pissed. this song was not supposed to come out tonight

im trying to create one of the more imaginative rollouts, and other people’s lust for money and impatience is ruining it

Glover has every reason to be upset that his music leaked but some people saw a little irony in his anger. After all, his album is called Because The Internet and the leak happened, well, because the internet.
Childish Gambino’s new album will feature appearances from Chance The Rapper, Jhene Aiko and Azealia Banks.
