Chelsea Handler is heading to Netflix.
The comedian, who has spent the last seven years hosting a talk show on E!, announced today that she’ll be hosting a new talk show on Netflix.

Handler said: “If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested … I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch, so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move.”
Netflix has been diving deeper into original program every year. Most shows, like House Of Cards or Orange Is The New Black, see all of their episodes released on the same day. Netflix said that they wanted to “reimagine” the late night genre but we doubt that the company will release Handler’s show in a block of episodes.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said: “The Internet has disrupted many of the conventions of traditional television and together with Chelsea Handler, Netflix is looking forward to reimagining the latenight talk show for the on-demand generation, starting with the latenight part. Chelsea has built a huge following on tour, on nightly TV and through her bestselling books, and we can’t wait to introduce her breathtakingly honest and irreverent voice to our global membership.”
In addition to the new talk show, Netflix will also be the first to air Chelsea Handler’s new special Uganda Be Kidding Me.
