The upcoming Channing Tatum action flick White House Down is getting some early buzz from a number of movie-oriented folks on Twitter.
Although director Roland Emmerich’s latest endeavor bears more than a passing resemblance to the Gerard Butler movie Olympus Has Fallen, this appear to matter much with reviewers. According those who caught early screenings of the movie, Channing Tatum’s flick is the very definition of dumb summer fun.
If there’s one guy who knows a thing or two about delivering empty-headed cinematic bliss, it’s Roland Emmerich. The filmmaker is responsible for helming such memorable big-budget fodder as Independence Day, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, and the misguided American version of Godzilla.

WHITE HOUSE DOWN is Emmerich’s first movie since ID4 to find that perfect balance between drama, action and humor. It’s silly, but DAMN FUN
