Changing Settings To Avoid Spam Twitter Emails [Tutorial]

Change Twitter settings

You know how Facebook will seemingly magically reverse our email notification settings from time to time or add new options that only end up increasing the amount of traffic we get in our spam folders? Twitter does the same thing from time to time, and if you’ve been noticing an increase lately, we’re here to help you stop it.

Go to twitter.com/settings/notifications (you have to be logged in, no problem). From there, it’s as simple as looking over the list and checking/un-checking anything you don’t want to receive email notifications for. Once you’re done, hit the blue “Save Changes” button, and voila! You’re free of Twitter spam (or you at least control the amount you get).

While it would be nice if Twitter would warn users of upcoming notification changes, they instead play the Facebook game and just kindly change your settings for you. It’s not a perfect world, even with regard to social media, but it’s not all that hard to make a few quick changes in your Twitter settings. Heck, there are some things in there you might want to keep on, like “tips on getting more out of Twitter,” or “suggestions about people I may know on Twitter,” if you’re new to the site.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about with regard to Twitter email notifications, it might be time to check your inbox.
