Celebrities Participate In Fake Hoverboard Product Launch

A video floating around social networks that include well known celebrities such as Tony Hawk, Terrell Owens, and Moby floating on hoverboards has people scratching their heads. The video is well done, and the company is even endorsed by Mark Cuban to make things even weirder.

The tagline used is “The Future Has Arrived,” but unfortunately people are going to have to keep waiting since the whole setup from the website to the video and celebrity endorsements is obviously fake.

HUVr, the company behind this hoax shows a counter on their website with a destination time set for December 2014.

Many people are predicting that this is all some sort of viral scheme for the launch of a new Back to the Future movie. It would make sense considering Billy Zane, an actor who played a bully in Back to the Future is involved in the hoax and there is a Delorean in the video with Christopher Lloyd himself driving it.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and what is to come of it in December. This type of viral based video marketing was also implemented by Robocop before the announcement of their new movie.
