Cops can never have enough backup. In fact, when they are really in a pinch they’ll even call on their feline friends for help. Just look at this cat perched on a cop’s shoulder during a burglary investigation in Portland.
According to the Associated Press, the officers were investigating a home invasion in South East Portland on Monday. The officers discovered broken glass and the floors of the bathroom and the basement, as well as one really friendly cat.

The police did not find the person responsible for the robbery. Maybe that’s because officer Sarah Kerwin was distracted by a clever little cat.
OK, so we know that this story is kind of stupid. And yes, we’re also wondering how this could possibly be news. But we’d much rather write about a cat perching on a cops shoulder than a cop killing a dog. Last week, an officer in New York slit a dog’s throat. The officer is now facing felony animal cruelty charges.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to end this story on such a sour note. Here, here look at this kitten.
