Caroline Wozniacki isn’t in the best place at the moment. A few days ago she was planning her wedding to professional golfer Rory McIlroy. Today, well, today she’s updating her Twitter profile to remove the word “fiance.”
McIlroy announced earlier this week that he was calling off his engagement to the professional tennis player. McIlroy said that he realized he wasn’t ready for marriage when he was getting the wedding invitations ready.
The split was sudden and unexpected. In fact, if you look back at the couple’s Twitter accounts you’ll see several happy photos from as recently as a few days ago.

But that’s all over now. McIlroy announced the breakup during a press conference earlier this week and now both parties are doing their best to move on. Caroline posted a message on Twitter this morning thanking her fans for their support. She also took a subtle dig at her former Manchester United fan fiance.
It's a hard time for me right now. Thanks for all the sweet messages!Happy I support Liverpool right now because I know I'll never walk alone

Wozniacki also removed the word “Fiance” from her Twitter profile. At the moment, she’s listed simply as a daughter, sister, and tennis player.
